This guy's opinion of Max. (Period)

So I was searching around google because I was trying to find the background video for Max. (Period) and I came across this on some guy's web-site...

"So, I finally heard "Max. (Period)" from Extreme CS. Man, am I disappointed. Not because it's mediocre, but because of these moments of genius that I see shining through this song just brought down by fan-mix-sounding crap.

Like, the first part is kind of cool. Then it goes on and on. Then the middle part comes up which is AMAZING. Then the part after the middle part comes up and that's cool as well. Then it gets into this whole sloppy sounding mess, which Konami claims is "600 bpm" even though it sounds more like the same track layered 3 times on top of itself. Then it gets to the end which seems like it would have been kind of cool. It's just such a letdown made all the worse by how cool it could have been. Instead we end up with something that sounds just like a crappy fan-made mix."

I think the steps are crazy, but yet fun. And also I think the song itself sounds like someone took a cheap digital turntable set and frick up the entire song. How awesome is that? -_-

I was disappointed with the whole thing. Calling any part of that song genius is a disgrace to Max300 and MaxX Unlimited, which *were* amazingly well done songs. I was astounded that someone could write a song that fast and still have it sound melodic and good. I found Legend of Max and Max. (period) to both be complete letdowns, in increasing order of disappointment.

And that 600 bpm thing is just a really bad gimmick. Someone thought they were really funny. Too bad we didn't get the other Max that some people have said was originally supposed to be in it. Hehe... oh well. Everyone's entitled to their own tastes. :-)

What is wrong with you people? Especially you dlm. Max. (Period) and The Legend Of Max are the best max's out there. Especially Max. (Period)...

p.s. Max. (Period) fucking ownz Max300. Maybe not The Legend Of Max but 300 for sure.

You're entitled to your taste in music, I'm entitled to mine. I didn't say you had to agree with me. The construction in Legend of Max and Max.(period) just plain doesn't appeal to me. They feel really hollow, emotionless, and structurally incohesive to me. I think both of them could probably be good songs if they were 4 times as long, but as they are, they feel really pieced together and cookie-cutter to me. But I have my own particular biases, as I'm sure you do. Doesn't make anyone viewpoint bad, just makes them different. So chill.

I belive LoM is very...well blaaaaaah. No feeling to it IMO, but I do like to play it.

On the other hand I like max. (period) in the begining of the song...but not towards the end.

I think that:

MaxX: awesome song. music is *MWAH*, fun (even if they are hard as hell) steps, and everyone loves it
The Legend of Max: FUN FUN steps, song is kinda meh BUT you can sing along, kinda
Max 300: just awfully brutal-sounding. Makes the player know (s)he's supposed to not like it, and it's fun as hell when you can do it
Max. (period): IMO, little to no musical value. The steps are kinda cool and the end run isn't even terribly hard...it's just fast.

Max. is half way between PSM and bag.... yes it's a damn hard song, but even if you think you're the shyt at the game, you won't beat it your first try.

I think MAX. as a song is pretty cool. Not as cool as MaxX (the best of the maxs IMO), but on level with LoM. The paranoia thing in the middle is a bit creepy, but it's U1-Asami, what else can we expect? The end run music wise is the "flattest" of all the maxes, so the constant stream makes sense there.

max.(period) is the worst remix that I have ever heard. Even worse than PARANOiA Respect. It's just Max300 with faint sounds of PARANOiA playing in the middle with steps that don't make sense at all. Oh, and don't get me started on the 600bpm....
