Yeah, I was in the gaming forum and whenever I'd click a thread a download prompt for Macromedia Flash 7 popped up. What's up? Saw it in the SvC thread mostly. _________________

The "Breathe life into SvC Chaos!" thread? I never got any pop-ups. I'm running Firebird 0.7 under Windows XP, you? _________________

I'm getting the same ad, but in random threads throughout the Random Chat and Mid-A forums, and on the Forum Index screen. |

Yeah, its happening at random for me also. Why is it prompting to us to download it? Its not like DDR Freak is running some kind of Flash Presentation on the forums. _________________

It's probably a new ad banner that uses Flash, and since you don't have the version installed that it wants, it's running an ActiveX control prompting for the upgrade. Moz doesn't (and won't) support ActiveX. _________________

I haven't noticed a new banner, althought the inconsistency people are reporting would point to the ads, as it's really the only dynamic object on any given page.

To that I say: Word.
Lack of ActiveX support is almost the #1 reason why I use Firebird. _________________

I have been getting it on the New York boards too. It is random though. Sometimes it pops up every few seconds and other times it doesn't come up at all. |

So is there anything going to be done or do we just have to sucker up and download the thing it wants? _________________

It tends to come up with some of the UBID banner adds. _________________

Is it a normal download window or IE's Install-on-Demand download window? _________________

If it's just asking to download Flash 7 and it's that Microsoft window, it won't hurt to download it. All the computers I have alread yhave Flash 7 installed, so I'm not seeing this window at all...can anyone figure out if it's from a sig or ad banner? _________________

I purposely have avoided downloading Flash. From what I can tell it is the UBID add that is causing it... |

It is most assuredly the UBid banner. _________________
