how do you get the bpm to show as unknown?

This only works with a .sm file. Delete the .dwi file (if you have both) first.

Under the line that says "#BPM:somenumber;" add the line "#DISPLAYBPM:*" I believe to make the number random (i.e. like TLOM and DDR in EX). Or, if you want it to show some number, put a number in place of the "*". Note: with some skins, it will display as "..." not as the random numbers.
