there was a group once in nyc called TechTyle who's ultimate purpose was to do such a thing. But alas, no.

I do hang on to that hope. And even if a casual person were to smile and clap everytime I fs for the fun of it on a DDR pad, it's still worth more than a AAA anyday.

I freestyle while following the steps. It's automatic for me, especially when I play Hit N' Slap.
Electrical Parade= spin, jump, spin, jump, spin, stomp..... whooooOOOO *falls over* and stikes a pose at the end! w00t!

ive only very recently started to freestyle, mainly for fun because me and
my friend decided "Wow we should freestyle for the heck of it"

i tried yesterday and mine was a complete laugh, there were about 6 or 7
people(that i dont know) watching which is a lot where i play.
anyways my entrance was retarded i was meant to jump over the bar but kinda went between and hit the top of the bar but miraculously got a perfect cos my leg slipped through, well we were doing for a joke so i knew no one was laughing directly at me thinking im crap.
i did a knee and hand slaps once or twice. hands didnt work for me cos never responded (stupid machines) and trying some fancy footwork that failed i think.

i was just wondering for you more experienced players here (in freestyling ofc)
what are good combinations...
what i mean is like
if you see a (insert arrow combo here) and what you should try on it

well right now im more of an improvisor and i just wanna know what type of cool moves i can do with different type of arrow combos.

Btw where i live (sydney, australia) ive never seen someone EVER freestyle and not many good players here so i guess overused moves
wont get frowned upon whereas if i were in a country full of ddr players.

- go to Youtube.com
- search people like 001, Lil' B, A-Jay, and other people
- watch their videos
- look at their lower body

after you do that, you will know what gliding is...

a glide is a dance move that makes your feet look like they're floating across the floor. an easy example of this is michael jackson's moonwalk AKA a back glide. There are also side glides, forward glides, and even knee glides!

to learn how to do a glide, search stuff on youtube. otherwise, you can find guides for glides and lots of other stuff at www.bboy.org (no, i'm not a bboy just because i know about the site)

Folks in northern California still freestyle...just not competitively, and more as a yearly celebration of the fun times we had when DDR freestyle tournaments were plenty and entertaining.

Haha, that made me chuckle. Yeah.. its a dying scene sadly. We need to revive. Steppers are just too easy to find nowadays.

I find doubles freestyles to be the best for one person, and versus for two people.

Well, hopefully the Freestyle community will gain a revival, like this new DDR generation.
