Really? My friend Seth's Cobalt Flux's base hasn't warped or cracked, and he puts it on carpet. Then again, he has one of the older Fluxes with the Start and Select buttons on the bottom of the pad. |

Orb-- you better hope they do, because that's the only type of driver available. It's the one CF gives you.

I got my cobalt flux yesterday and am very happy with it other than the fact I am getting goods once and a while and misses that I'm fairly sure I shouldn't have been getting. I've heard you have to sometimes either losen or tighten the panels but I'm not sure how much so that you're suppose to do it. So if anyone could clear that up for me i'd appreciate it. |

Okay, my dad called Cobalt Flux just now... and apparently they're getting in more C-boxes tomorrow. Let's hope we're all in that shipment. :o _________________

The screws should be just tight enough that the panels don't budge, but not tight enough to make any of them bend. |

Okay look i ordered my pad on 6/13 and the last time i contacted them through e-mail was about 8/1, they said it my pad is going to be here around next week which is this week. They haven't updated my ordered status on the site and it still says "being Built" You think it will come this week? no tracking number either updated. |

I wouldn't be surprised if they have actually gotten further along with your order and just haven't updated the site yet. Your order date is one day after the last they said they shipped. They actually don't keep the site updated as much as would be preferable, because they're so busy and it's such a daunting task. I suggest emailing them again, as I got an email today saying that my mat would ship on Monday or Tuesday. |

got the double kit, my son was quite happy to have it for his b`day (not sure if they process double orders faster than singles... might be ) so far the response seems quite impressive, its truly ultra sensitive, I will have to add washers to the screws for the double bar to stay in place (the grooves are wider than the screw heads) I will try it on PC when I get some time but there is definitely a USB plug on the cbox (printer type (squarish) USB female plug) _________________

I'm not completely sure what you mean, but you shouldn't need to do that. Just tighten the screws a bit so the doubles bar fits. _________________

The time listed on the site is 4-6 weeks. Most classes started this week. I wouldn't count on getting your mat by then and you have to account for the fact that it takes at least a week to assemble the pad. If they are waiting on a shipment of parts, this generally means that there are orders backed up before yours, many of these orders being ordered in the beginning of June. Your order will not have priority just because you are impatient. I ordered my mat on the 27th of June and am also still waiting. They said maybe this week, but who knows, it could take until the end of August or maybe even September or October. It's hard to tell. You're just going to have to wait. Either way, I can more or less guarantee you will get the pad after school starts, and I'm thinking I will too (I'm going to be a Freshman in college, my first class is on the 20th). |

I had to think about it for a while, but then I realized what he means. The holes for the screws must be too big. This could either be a screw shaped hole or a horizontal rectangular one (like one of my pads had) where the bar could have slid back and forth and maybe knocked loose eventually.
EDIT: CRAP. Sorry about double posting. I'd combine the posts but these boards don't have a delete option. |

Does anyone know how to add a bar to a Cobalt Flux? I know virtually nothing in the custom pad area, or anything related to it. Does anyone have a very specific, helpful tutorial for how to add a bar? |

You cannot just add a bar onto the Cobalt Flux, it literally has no edges beyond the arrows, so there is no room. You have to build a base and attach a bar to it. That said, this will extend the life of the Flux and pretty much eliminate sliding.
Here are some basic instructions I got from someone who had constructed a base for their doubles set:
Chris Green wrote: | The base is really easy to build. It does add quite a bit of weight to the already heavy CF platforms. I used a 4' x 8' sheet of either 5/8" plywood or 3/4". It might only be 1/2", I forget. The thicker the better for strength, but the thicker the plywood, the heavier it will be. My double pad is easily over 200 pounds. It is difficult to move. I put furniture sliders (Home Depot) underneath to help move it. I also put some along the side so that it can be slid once it's upright. Where it is now, it won't be moved very often anymore.
I trimmed down the 4'x8' plywood to leave 3" or so around the CF pads. Then I just bought some wood trim from Home Depot to use as an outline/border. Put the CF pad on the plywood, then cut the trim and placed it all around. Then you can mark where you need to cut. Try to keep it all as tight as possible. I left a gap for the cords on each side. The pads are removable although I never take them out. It's just spray painted black. I didn't bother painting the bottom as it's not seen. Don't over-think the design; it's just a plywood base with some trim around the edge. |
Note that his was a double's base and you won't need a 4 by 8 because you aren't accounting for the width of two pads, just one.
Anyway, I emailed Flux and received this reply today:

Perfect timing! I just printed your shipping label through UPS. The tracking

Thank you,

Ah, man, I can hardly wait.
After it gets here, though, I'll have to pick it up from my uncle's house...

It was supposed to be delivered there for my birthday but came long after it. |

Mine would be shipping right about now, too, if they actually RESPONDED to my calls...
Me and my dad have called many times (only left one message though). They just don't call back, and they haven't emailed back since my initial email on July 17th. Almost a month.
See, the reason I need to get a hold of them so urgently is that my dad's credit card (how I'm paying for this) expired, and he got a new one. Thus, he needs to let them know his new credit card number, or I'm basically screwed over. Congrats, though, on getting word on yours. _________________

Try emailing again. I've gotten a response to my email everytime. You also need to make sure to give your order number in the email to speed things up (because the first thing they'll ask is the order number). |

Hey guys I ordered my pad on June 20th, and it finally shipped today. I did give them a call before and they told me that it would ship on the 10th, but they were wrong. Whatever though, I'm just glad that it says something besides "Being Built" on the site. |
