But Soymilk, you have to buy the Brackets and mounting rubber-housings as well. At that rate you almost have to buy the $200 package. I'm looking for something a little cheaper. I might just have to build those matrix-style sensors. :o _________________

It's a good deal if you have some way of doing the housings yourself though.
I'd suggest the matrlx sensors. They're cheaper, quite sensitive, and last longer. |
Hmm... I think it could be done with a little bit of silicone xD.
But I've looked at the matrix sensors, and from what I can tell, they're pretty.... legitimate. One thing I'm concerned about is what material is used to provide rebound. Obviously, foam core and foam weather stripping are out of the question. Perhaps a really dense mouse pad would be a better solution? Rubber gaskets? Rubber Erasers?
From what I've seen, the matrix sensors use contact with the upper bracket and the lower screws to complete the circuit. In theory, wouldn't that dent and bend the upper bracket after extended use? Would washers be a suitable replacement if they were placed in several places along the brackets?
Sorry for all the questions :[ _________________

Sorry for all the questions :[ | Yes, a dense mouse pad will definitely do the trick. And if you get the right brackets, the chances of denting on them is VERY low since they will be forged steel. |

Hmm.... So do you think that I should stick with the washers though? and how many layers of mouse pad and washers should I use?
I guess that's just one of those trial and error kind of things. _________________

Thanks, I've got to get to work on this thing O: _________________
