I knew a guy who made one. I only saw pictures online he posted, and it was pretty sweet. I believe he had to special order parts overseas. |

you can use the buttons, chip, and turntable mount from one of the ones packaged with BMUS.
Then, just build a new encasement and turntable.
If you want to use something else for your buttons, you could get 7 of these.
I don't know where else to find good buttons. _________________

The turntable's just a weighted disc with an optical sensor.
You could probably just make one yourself.
But the ones from the BMUS controllers aren't all the great, and they're kinda small. _________________

So are the home version BMUS controllers not to scale with the arcade machines? I've never actually seen the arcade setup so I assumed that they were the same. |

Not even close.
is the official konami arcade style controller for PS2
is the official konami home controller
as you can see, the keys and turntables are spaced differently, and the arcade turntable is much larger
As for building your own, yeah it's entirely possible.
You will have to build a new TT, and buy Sanwa buttons for the keys if you want the experience. You can use some parts from the IIDX controller (both US and JP), like the board the keys use, and the TT sensor.
If you decide you don't want to build your own, I'd recommend that you STAY AWAY from the official Konami ASC. It's rarely in stock and the keys aren't sanwas. They don't have lights or anything in them either, and for that price, you should be getting them.
I'd recommend DJ Dao or Desktop Arcade. |
