I finally have good news! After 100000 times of calling them, someone finally answered and they actually explained to me what was going on with my pad. They said that since it was an expensive item, they had to make sure that it was going to the right address or something like that. Then they told me that they will be shipping it tommorrow and I will have it with in a week. That makes me feel ALOT more comfortable with my $450 order now. But there's still no excuse for being so hard to get a hold of and taking this long without telling me what's happening. _________________

I'm just curious what your reasoning was behind buying this pad instead of a Cobalt Flux. Was it the bar? Were you just curious what the pad was like? |

Well I bought mine because, from what I've heard...
1. Has a decent bar
2. My friend has a cobalt flux and I hate it. It sucks at life.
3. Much more of an an arcade feel compared to the cobalt
4. Is supposed to be durable
5. Is supposed to be very sensitive
6. It uses arcade sensors
7. looks better in my opinion
8. Indented and very thick arcade like panels _________________

I got my Blueshark 2 days ago, so I'm gonna tell you guys all about it.
When I got it and opened the box, I noticed it was poorly packaged. It has some dented corners and the bolts for the bar and extra random screws were just laying in random places in the box. But other than that it looked awsome

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i184/marquistadorous/IMAG0052.jpg
But that really isn't a big deal. I put the bar on and, well, It's rediculously flimsy and lame, so you'll have to mod it like I did (it's extremely easy), which I'll tell you at the bottom of this post.
I put in my itg2 beta played Ride The Bass with no pad misses, no pad greats, held all the freeze arrows, no ghost steps... In other words, it's amazing. The panels are rediculously thick, and the whole pad has a good, firm, and quality feel to it. I also noticed the panels are just barely indented, much less than the arcade, but you can still feel your position. I then played Stop and Go expert, and it held the quad freeze at the end like nothing... I had never held a quad freeze before that was more than a couple seconds long. It's an amazing pad, and it looks amazing as well. It's amazingly sensitive, yet you don't get ghost steps. My friend's cobalt doesn't even compare to this beast.
Now for the bar. I don't know if my bar was worse than normal, but it sucked at life to say the least. It bent back a mile when you used it, not because the bar itself was weak or that it wasn't bolted in well enough, but because the holes at the surface of the pad are too large. If your blueshark's holes give the bar too much room to wobble, here's what I did:
get some sheet metal that's not too thick and that can be fairly easily bent. Cut out two 2" x 3.5" pieces. Do your best to mold each piece into each of the holes at the top of the pad so the now the sheet metal pieces are cylinders that fit snuggly into the holes (the 2 inch side should be vertical and the 3.5 inch side should be horizontal). shove the sheet metal cylinders as far down as they will go. There should be about 1/4" of the cylinder sticking out from the pad. now place the bar into the holes. It will be a very tight fit, but that's what you want, trust me. Now just bolt the bar in from the bottom like normal, and it will be 10 times more sturdy
I'll post a vid of me doing a 12 or 13 on my BS in a day or two, so that'll be cool. But for now, here's a couple of pics.

Are your screws coming loose like after every song?
Do any of your brackets become really looks?
Do the panels stick sometimes?
Mine do... I'm just curious about yours. |

put washers on the 4 screws holding the brackets of the arrow your having a problem with. and screw in fully so it wont ocme undone also if still having it too sensitive use 2 washers on each bracket. |

I'll try two washers - the pad is DEFINITELY more sensitive than the arcade. Honestly I just want to practice for the arcade, so it's more a negative than a plus for me (I find myself flat footing less and getting into lazy habits of exerting less energy).
That mod with the bar sounds interesting, but I've heard that the bar NEEDS some slack - if it's too stiff it runs the risk of breaking. I'd like to see more on your bar mod, though, it sounds better than the other one I read about.
By the way, my girlfriend got me this - http://www.outletpc.com/c5941.html - they let me move my BlueShark around the room as if I had a soft pad. It stays put when I play, but I can gently push the pad around my room when I have these things under it. I'm actually amazed at how well they work.
edit - also a maintenance question. What do you guys use to clean your pad? I sweat a lot, so all it takes is an hour or two for the pad to have sweat all over it. The surface is so shiny and reflective that Windex with a paper towel still leaves marks. I was thinking of treating it like a car and trying rags instead - I just like how it looks when it's shiny and clean . |

Well, it seems like my bar mod isn't doing as well as I thought. After I started to play on it more, it's gotten pretty much just as bad. It really sucks _________________

I'm sorry, I already used the washer tricked and it worked... but I was asking him if his screws came undone. I wasnt really asking for any tips for me lol.
Also, 2 washers makes them stick up too high.
IF YOU PUT WASHERS ON YOUR SCREWS AND TIGHTEN THEM TOO MUCH... THE NUT THAT THE SCREW SCREWS INTO WILL BREAK AND BECOME STUCK TO THE SCREW. (You can take the nut off the screw, but you'll need a wrench or a Robogrip.)

Can someone post a picture of a detached BlueShark bar for me?
A tx4000/6000 bar pic would be nice too.
I don't like what I've seen with them, and I don't want DT200 and DT500 bars to turn out as bad as other homepad bars.
Thanks. =) _________________

Really? That makes for a boring video. I didn't do that bad so you can obviously tell it's a pretty solid pad. And you really don't want to see the bar. Lets just say it would be a blur because of how loose and lame it is... But if you want, I'll make another vid _________________

But if you want, I'll make another vid | It would be an awfully boring video if you were playing at the arcade, but since you're playing on a Blueshark, and there aren't many videos of hard songs being bar-raped, it would be interesting to watch. Oh, and I've seen some of your other videos, and you zoom in on the screen too much - you should just show the whole screen rather than just the top half. |

Alright here's me playing Bloodrush on my Blueshark with the camera looking at the pad instead of the screen, like you guys wanted.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEOnXa84F4o
And as I mentioned in the vid, I tightened the bar again right before I filmed this, and it really helped, and it's still good. The bolts must just come loose easily. Will washers fix that? _________________

Ahh the blueshark in all its glory in that video
No idea on the washers on the bar just know they do wonders for over sensitive / rattling brackets. Try it on the bar and tell me how it works
great video also thanks for posting. |
