Sorry for being persistent, but I really want to know why I'm getting this error message .
It says it can't find the IMS, but it's right there staring in its face! |

Can you add any sim file to it or does it have to be an official file (DDR/ITG song)??

ok... i've tried uninstalling/reinstalling PCKSuite many times and I still get this error.
When i try to open either IDX Wrapper, Packer, or just PCKMagic an error comes up saying:
"C:\Program Files\PCKSuite\PCKMagic.exe
This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."
Any ideas how I can fix this such that I can use these? _________________

you can fix that by installing the C+++ that comes with that file.
Now can anyone help me with the IDX thing and the ASPI loading error??? _________________

Thanks so much for answering kalek.
although i still encounter the same problem, i checked my remaining memory and there is a lot of free space left, so that shouldnt have anything to do with the IDX thing, and when i try to make the ISO file using the program included with the other tools it only makes a .RAR file of everythingm not an actual ISO file _________________

Kalek wrote: | Travelsonic wrote: | So I finally got the EXACT tools and made the ISO exactly like it should, my question it... I have a DVD burner that can burn to DVD with 9.5GB storage capacity... is there any in-game/PS2 limits on size that would prevent me from using all of the 9.5GB on the disk for additional songs? |
The game starts to lock up randomly and become really buggy once you hit the ~500 song mark. |
Song number aside, does ammount of space used on a disk matter? I plan on attempting BGvideos using all of the files from Beware's BGvideo pack which wastes about 500MB of space. With the number of songs I have now (about 290) AND the BGvideos, will that cause any problems?
EDIT: I got some problems. The disk loads and the music is at the right bitrate (and pitch/speed as a result), but I am still encountering the following issues:
- Most of my DDR simfiles are offsync even though I set the offset to 0.016 in the simfiles and tinkered with in-game settings, and those that aren't offsync give me more goods than excellents and fantastics.
- ITG2/3 and any custom file based upon this game series won't load except for in practice mode. The songs I have are !, Bloodrush, Energizer, Fledh Uncut, Psalm Pilot, and Vertex^2 _________________

Wait, did you set the offset of the DDR files to 0.016? Or your global offset?
It needs to be your global offset.
Space used shouldn't matter, but BGVideos don't work at all. If you have seen anything differently, PLEASE share your findings.
For ITG2/3 stuff, resize your banners and BGs (256x80 and 320x240). That's what fixed it for me (if you feel like treking through the thread, probably around like page 6 or 7 I had the exact same problem). |

I also read on one of those two pages that you could either modify the global offset or set the offset in the simfiles to 0.04 to get syncing correct unless I yet again misunderstood... I'll find out when I test the ISO in the emulator. |
Its actually add 0.016 to the offset of each simfile. Not make it the offset.
The global offset changes the syncing of all songs by that offset. So, if you were to make 0.016 your global offset, it would automaticly change the offset of each simfile that you play by 0.016. |

Hmm...around 500 songs can be thrown on before it gets weird...does that only apply to burning it on a DVD or would it be possible to just run it off a hard drive and not have problems?
I also managed to snag the group sort fix for ITGPS2 as well. |

Sorry for not finding this on my own, but I can't find any docs that tell me what each PCK represents on the disc. I want to just modify static.ini and remove some native ITG1 songs without rebuilding the entire PCK folder, and am not sure how to proceed. I only can figure out how to add PCKs to the ISO.
I also figured ITG would be faster running off a 7200rpm hard drive using HD Loader, but it's honestly no different than when I would play using the original DVD - stepmania 3.9 running on my laptop is still faster (and ITG2 PC is arcade speed). |

I too would appreciate a list of all the files in each .pck since I am planning on unpacking and modifying as much of the theme as possible to make it like ITG2 (already got the 68 ITG2 songs done), kind of a ITG 1.5. I THINK I already got the theme's music sounds (menus, credits, grading, etc) replaced correctly. _________________
