the arrows are like... stuck? I took out all the screws and nothing really budges. Any further "plying" would probably result in CRACK.

And about my upside down arrow, yea I did ask mymybox about taking the nexen apart. They never responded. E2.gif

the arrows arent stuck, thats what i thought at first but i gave it a yank and BAM, it popped out. turns out the panel is held to the pad by those sticky stuff they use on wallets and shoe straps. trust me, just yank it out, if it cracks, just send it to MMB and get a new one for free

Are you referring to velcro? If the panels are held in by velcro like a Cobalt Flux, the panel isn't going to crack.

I dont even know how it cracked. All I know is that the nexen's design isn't all that great. When I actually popped the arrow out, the velcro was still stuck together, only the glue peeled. I cleaned the panels and its still as responsive as before: crappy.

Well the Nexen seems pretty much to be hit or miss. So you could try your luck. And if that doesn't work out, sell it on eBay as an ITG 2 dedicab.

Well, I received my Nexen today and it is HORRID. The adapter the plugs into the 'controller port' (Is that what its called?) was wrapped up in tape, stuck in the styrofoam, completely shattered. Who packages something that they "Fully Support" like that? All thats left is the chip and some wires. It works fine, its just the safety hazard I'm worried about. There is no instruction manual, so can canyone tell me how you go back (Select button on the controller)? The packing foam was not in any arranged order at all, just threw into the box. There are two quarter size dents in the corners, just like everyone else has said. The worst part, my down arrow is doing ghost steps. I tried to take the arrow out but the velcro isn't undoing, the glue is just coming off, so I'm pretty sure I won't be able to take the arrow out without cracking it. This pad is not worth the money spent and the weeks of anticipation. I'll be trying to make phone calls tomorrow to see if I can be getting a replacement. But considering the awful things I've heard about the customer service, I doubt I'll be getting anywhere.

Wow, was that your Christmas present?
I feel really bad for you :\ Really, that doesnt make me feel good inside E2.gif

I guess the nexen wasnt all it was supposed to be.

Anyways, as for me and my blueshark....

I bought a PS2 --> USB Converter from RadioShack and it is NOT supposed to be used for dance pads, of corse though, I learned that the hard way. I tried to use it but it turned out that its ALWAYS on Axis Mode. (I'm not too sure what its called, I think its 'Axis Mode'.) That means that the converter thinks that your using a controller, a D-Pad. And so- you can't hit Left and Right at the same time and cant hit Up and down at the same time, otherwise they cancel eachother out.

Now, since I don't have a PS2, or any DDR games besides Stepmania and ITGPC, I cant test out my Blueshark!

Gaaahhh!!!!111

In otherwords:

DONT BUY PS2 to USB CONVERTER'S FROM RADIOSHACK! FOR DANCE PADS, THAT IS.

Damn, I feel really bad for you too if that was your Christmas gift...seriously.
You should probably post your problems on their website and explain how awful your pad is. They usually always respond then because they don't want to get a crappier reputation.

Alright, I have just received a Nexen for Christmas and after playing it for a day, heres my review.

It came packaged well, everthing was organized fine out of the box. THere were a few small dents in the corners of the pad, but nothing serious.

Gameplay:
I dont know why, but during streams like in ITG and the 10's in DDR, the pad SUCKS at responding (it misses every 5th arrow using flat-footing).I'm hoping that this problem can be solved by breaking in the pad. My right arrow is acting funny so I'll open it up and check it out later today.

Feel:
Again, it feels kind of mushy, but possibly something that can be improved by breaking the pad in. Also, the centerp anel is really stiff, so stamina conserving feels awkward, especially in shoes.

Looks:
OMG this pad is sexy drool.gif . Very shiny and beautiful to look at, minus a few small dents in the corners.

Overall:
I can't really give this pad a rating because I've only played for an hour and a half, and most of these problems I've been having I think can be solved by getting a feel for the pad as well as breaking it in.

The red and green buttons next to the adapter plug part on the dance pad are start and select (I forget which is which), and I remember it took me a couple of days to figure that out too lol. I'd definitely give MyMyBox a call, but if you're feeling somewhat crafty you can probably fix this problem yourself.

I think you should try opening up the up arrow and then your down arrow and compare the two. Originally, I had one arrow that triggered ghost steps as well, and when I compared that arrow to a good one I noticed that a wire was touching the sheet metal when it wasn't supposed to, so I fooled around with the velcro and made it work. It's kind of a pain to do because you have to make sure all the wires lay flat, but if you're just going to send it back anyways you might as well try.

after 2 days of playing on my blueshark, the up arrow is giving me random misses. not often, just random misses that are clearly the pad and not me.

the screws keep on becoming loose, and so i have to screw them in after a few songs. other than that, its all its cracked up to be.

i'll post a better review after i get it running on my PC.

Don't, heres why.

Yesterday the right arrow continued to stick on my Nexen, so my father and I opened up both the left and right arrows to see how the left arrow was wired. The problem was that on the other three arrows MyMyBox put the sensor wire under the velcro on the panel, so that it couldn't possibly touch the contact without stepping on the panel. On the right arrow, they got lazy and just left it dangling between the panel and the contact, so that after two or so songs the sensor wire would be constantly touching the contact. So we put the wire under the velcro on the right panel and it worked beautifully. The sensitivity on all four arrows have improved as well.

This was the only song I could play yesterday because it got too late to play anymore, and my dad just wanted me to test it to see if it worked (I had to wait until he came home from work).

How about that on the only song of the day (haven't played this song in a while)?

geez really? I got part of the money to save up for a Blueshark, but if it's already screwing up, then I won't get it. O_o If you figure out a way to fix the problem, please share this with me. E15.gif
