I have a pair of Nikes that work pretty well except that they squeak awfully. The shoes that I wear most are Converse though...they are light and flexible but have almost no ankle support. _________________

Nike shoks are also a good pair of sneakers as well just because of the overall above balance it holds and it will make you feel like you're moving on clouds! ^^ So to say to my opinion _________________

I play both Flatfooted and Toes, I think your general Lo-top chuck taylors are good, you can even bracket hug with them if you wanted. |

Sorry if this has already been brought up in the thread, but from what I'm gathering is that no form of outside exercise will improve your ddr skills. Is this true?
Reason I ask is, well I can get to the arcade once a week, and there is a gym across the street from me. Its a lot better and cheaper if I can find a way to train at the gym that will improve my ddr abilities.
I'm looking for a particular exercise might increase my footspeed, I'm sure there is a specific muscle that is related to this, so there must be so way to increase its abilities other than playing ddr alot. At the moment I do leg lifts/leg presses and I lift with my calves. I can only guess that this makes my foot work faster.
Also stamina would be nice, and at the moment I'm doing an eliptical and bike machines to help with that.
Overall I don't know if what I'm doing at the gym relates to my ddr abilities, so if somone could drop some insight as to what I should be doing or if there nothing I can do, that would be much appreciated. |

Rather than a gym, you'd probably be better off on a football field taking part in the footspeed drills (tires or ropes) |

Ever heard of mile runs? I'm sure you have, do them. They really do help.
Only in grade 8.. but because of DDR I can do them in like 6:40? (Not an athletic person).. but I'd assume that it would help the other way too... for stamina anyway.. I usually don't get tired while playing 10 footers (not TOO tired) |

Hadn't thought of that, but really fast double-dutch would look a lot like DDR, so it'd have to help... _________________

Do easy songs that go faster than 160 and do them at 2x. Then by comparison, PS 1x will seem slow and easy to read. |

i would do the running but i've heard from a lot of people that it doesn't affect the stamina in ddr at all, like their two different types of stamina. |

Anyone here want to reccomend me a pair of shoes strictly for DDR? I want to be able to play comfortably when I flatfoot for ten and higher ITG songs and when I play on my toes for nine and under DDR songs. I don't feel like creating a thread like this as it's pretty straight forward and simple to answer. |

Just... use tennis shoes?
These are the shoes I use. They work fine, even though they're quite beaten up from over a year of use. _________________

I use Merill Continum's at the arcade. But if you use a soft pad, like muah, use your feet or get a pad that has ultrathick foam. Feels much better. |

I play on a Cobalt Flux and I usually flat foot with my And 1 basketball shoes but since they curve up at the top I want something that's pretty much flat but would be fine if I wanted to play on my toes. Yasu's shoes look comfy. |

... and it would've been locked because there's already a thread with over 1500 answers to this simple and straight-forward question here _________________

This question may have already been answered before, but does anyone have advice on how I can improve my playing when the arrows are on Reverse (falling down the screen instead of floating up)? I can't seem to get the hang of it. |

The easy answer is, *sigh*, practice it.
You could try starting with easy songs (like 4-5 foot light songs for you) and using solo and maybe 1.5x, depending on what bpm the song is (under 130 and you should be all right). |
