I guess that the reason I don't like Felm is that virtually all of the music I like to listen to is from the Classical, Romantic, or Impressionist periods. I like tonality, correctly-proportioned musical phrases, and form. Felm has very little of these. Most of the song does not have a strong, definite key. And as far as I can tell, the song has sort of an ABC form - there's no sign of anything resembling a recapitulation. It sounds like two minutes of aimless musical wandering to me. In the middle part with the piano, it's even harder than it is in Faxx to hear that it's in 3/4 (because of the way the drums are). This makes what is actually a solid group of four eight-bar phrases sound random and pointless. Also, I really dislike repetition without variation, and I don't think repetitive voices and ringing add anything to the song but noise.

The funny thing, though, is that I like the sound of the Vertexes.

IIRC, didn't you like the sound of Max.(Period)? And yes, I like FELM, as I like all the Maxes(duh..).

Max. (period) rocks. It sounds so much more professional than Felm, at least to me. I think the voice in Max. (period) sounds cool, as opposed to the voice in Felm, which just sounds annoying. The way 2MB used Paranoia in the middle is pretty clever.

And I hate the phone ringing in Felm. The beginning reminds me of a damn office. I vote that its name be changed to Fascination ~office mix~.

FELM must be DDR's throwback to ITG...AND this proves that 2MB music is dark humor.
*cough*Trip Machine ~luvMIX~*cough*

I'm wondering where people get this "Why do you need Konami originals?" theme out of the song. From what I can tell, all it says is "I am all you need."

Why do you need Konami Original songs? Because ITG sucks.

Max.(period) is also by 2MB and it contains the word 'need' therefore they are both connected! Also Maximum Overdrive is a Max song.

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

Eh, I guess. Felm could be poking fun at a lot of things, really.
"I am all you need" could mean DDR is all we need, or that simply Konami Originals is all we need. Hell, the snicker after "You are Connected" could be a poke at ITG's mimicry of DDR, since being connected is essentially the opposite of Disconnected. So if we're connected, we're in tune to the REAL 4-arrow game! Maybe Felm wants us to stop disconnecting to ITG! OMGWOAHOMG.

Ugh, does it matter? -_-

I thought that up in like, a minute, and I've learned from MAX.(period) that continuing this kind of dwelling is just plain pointless with phrases THIS vague. And Felm's are more hazy than what the MAX song said to us. =/

I personally just find the phrases to be a nice touch to a menacing, phone-themed song. Just like the heartbeats were to HVAM's hospital theme. Just like baby noises were in ~luv mix~'s cheeky sound effects. It seems that U1 loves being thematic.

Oh, and since you mentioned 2MB's Trip remix, 1306, what, may I ask, was it supposedly trying to imply to us? Baby sounds and asking mommy to play Trip Machine don't exactly spark any implications.

But, if I really had to decide what Felm is telling us, I am betting my money on a...

Im guessing 2MB likes to make remixes with really weird/stupid/impossible-to-understand phrases. (MAX.(period), ORION.78 Civilization, FELM)

When Japanese people try to do things in english, it often turns out that way. Let's all go into massive detail trying to work out exactly why Pop'n Music 9 says 'I am happy if you have enjoy' when you clear arcade mode! Would they be happy if we have enjoy? What about if we haven't enjoy? Will the characters not be as happy as usual? Someone should explain this in greater length, it has about as much point as this thread.

Yeah, good point. The japanese make several "engrish" mistakes.
