We just hook-up the PS2 connector. Call customer support. _________________

I actually JUST got my BNSUSA Fusion soft pad in the mail today and it's not working!
The pad itself is recognized by StepMania and In The Groove (both on OS X), but when I try to configure the individual buttons, nothing is registered! I tried the Joystick and Gamepad Tester app and it didn't see anything, either. So I installed USB Overdrive, and it saw the pad fine and registered presses. Any idea why SM or ITG itself won't see the presses? The wiring obviously works and the pad is recognized. Here's the screenshot of the pad config:
So it sees it. Just doesn't register pushes.
This is my very first DDR pad and I'm so confused and worried that I got a bad one.
Any ideas?
Edit: I looked up the 045e vedor ID and it's Microsoft?! The 0285 product ID isn't listed anywhere, though. I have no other USB devices connected.
Oh, and also, I can see the pad in System Profiler. So it really is THERE. |

all up BNS and tell them your problem. They have good customer service, you should be able to send it back and get it replaced.
Before you do that, may i ask what version of OS X you are using? also, you might need to get this controller adapter thing for macintosh off apples site called "gameSprockets." i believe that s what i needed to get when i got my smartjoy adapter. heres the link.
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=31236
if that doesnt work, then i reccomend e-mailing apple customer support or something about it.
your lucky im a mac user! _________________

GS is for OS 9.
Guess I'll give BNS a call. Hope they can help.

Guh. No go. At least USB Overdrive registered presses and pressed a key for me in return. GamepadCompanion doesn't even seem to register presses.
I just hooked up my pad to my old Playstation. I don't have any dancing games for it, but all the buttons worked just how they should in other games.
I'm so confused. I'm almost tempted to buy a PS>USB adaptor even though my pad already has a USB cable!
I emailed BNS. Hopefully they have an idea.
Thanks for your help. I have a feeling any solution will either be crazy or painfully obvious to me. heh |

thats terribly weird....perhaps you should try it on a friends PC or something? idk, but mine works perfectly on my mac. The only other solution i can come up with is that the BNS sparkle uses the same buttons to register as the smartjoy converter. The list had my smartjoy converter for compatable converters, and so maybe once its synced with that it will work with BNS by thinking its the smartjoy converter? its a little far-fetched, but who knows?
o and having my dance pad hooked up and hitting left and right to open my brower kicks buttocks. i also have it so when i hook up my taiko drum and hit it it will open up ichat....tehe, i love being easily entertained. _________________

@J-PFL
So you're using the Sparkle pad with 10.3.9? Exactly what other software are you running? Just GamePadCompanion?
Thanks! |

Heh, I think these things actually look pretty awesome. The arrow design on the pad could've been a bit longer though but still....... |

im also using controllermate, which i actually reccomend playing around with to see if you can map your dance pad to buttons. If that doesnt work, try it on a PC if you can. If that doesnt work, send back the dance pad.

YES YES YES YES THANK YOU!
That's exactly the program that it needed! I've got everything mapped now and ITG sees it! I've got to run off to work, but will be enjoying the reward later tonight.
Thank you again! |

JPFL, did you get your pad issue ("must be in both PS2 and USB to work on PS2" or something to that extent) worked out? |

i called them up, and they said it was a problem with the new line of BNS DX pads(particularly the sparkles) pads but they also said that i should be fine and if it stops working i can send it back and they'll send me a new one. _________________
