Do both of the pads have resessed arrows because I really lose where I am exactly especially when I just want to hit the closer edge of the arrow?

The arrows are not recessed from any of the other panels but I had no problem finding them, I can feel the small crack between the arrows if I get too close. I come from playing on a foam pad and I think this is infinitely better.

Even with shoes?

I only played one song with shoes and the sound was far more annoying than losing my place on the pad. I guess the easiest way for me to position myself with shoes was when I stepped on the center of an arrow I sunk a tad bit further than on the edges, and if I stepped across two buttons it didn't budge much at all. Maybe someone who's had more experience with this pad could comment further?

I'm only a 4-6 foot player and coming from a foam mat so all I can say for certain is that I got longer combos and mostly A's with a couple AA's on the songs I tried (and almost entirely wearing socks). A friend of mine can do 7-9 foot songs on his old red octane foam mat so maybe I'll try to get his opinion of it next time he's in town.

As promised, here is a video of me using my TX-6000.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-EsqxA5IoM

I get an AA with two goods (they'd be misses if it was problems with the pad). Note how, many times, I barely touch the arrow. To be more specific, most of my 130 pound self was leaning on the bar and I could still get the "up" arrow to register by hitting the sensor at the very edge with my toe. Just watch the video and you'll see.

I edited the first post of this thread so that people can find information of this pad easily.

Do you people think it is good? Any suggestions/changes?

The only difference is the TX6000 has a bar which may or may not hold up under regular use (see other posts in this thread concerning that)\

*edit* I guess its a smidge thicker too?

Mine worked immediately after plugging it in. It detected as "XBOX Dance Pad" or something like that. I just went into Stepmania and mapped the buttons and I was good to go. The control box has PS2, Xbox, and regular USB connectors. Xbox and USB share the same pigtail, you just plug in the appropriate (and included) end for whichever type you need.

Someone else will need to comment on lik-sang, I got mine on ebay.

just bumping the tread.

My tx-4000 is still holding up well. Though I must admit that I don't dance anymore as often as before.

sorry for bumping this thread but i have a few things to ask about this pad

how thick are the arrows?

is the bar really that weak?

is it that hard to do hands on this pad?

how strong are the sensors? (i.e. how long will they last)

how strong is the frame work on this pad?

there might be more questions later

thanks

Double post! Whoo!

I got my 4k, and I am extremely pleased with it. I'll be posting a complete review with pictures here this weekend hopefully, if not, soon after.

Nice to hear that. Make sure to remove all the plastic parts before dancing on it (also the 2 white plastick layers).

Two weeks in and not a single problem.

In the process of writing a long-detailed review, from the packaging to pictures of it in use, to screencaps of scores with it.

Question: could anyone tell me if they have a good contact service? I do a lot of work with Dance Platform design (electrical and physical engineering), and I'm trying to compile a list of companies that might be willing to buy rights to manufacture dance platforms following my designs. Also, where are their HQ? (I don't want to leave North America for contracts unless I get an offer of at least $2000 + 5% royalties.)
