I seem to be having the same problem with my mat. I got my V3.0 few days ago and after under three hours the down arrow is missing and all my riser pads have moved from under the arrows towards the center. I envy all of you that got to use your mat for more than 2 hours. Anyways, anyone know a way to move the risers from the center back to the arrows without voiding the warrenty? _________________

We exchanged the pad that we had bought at BestBuy. The current one doesn't show signs of riser slippage.
Could this be an occasional manufacturing defect? _________________

So guys...I'm a bit pissed off at this pad now. I've decided tomorrow I'm going to gut it open and look at each sensor and find a way to make it so the arrow doesn't always keep contact with the sensor. Probobly cut out 1/4 inch thick of foam and in the middle of the foam have several multisized holes to let the sensor touch without it being always stuck on. Then super glue all the foams in. My pad arrows will probobly be a bit higher than usual but whatever. Should I just use duct tape to put back the sewing together? |

Where the hell am I going to get 1/4th inch thick foam?
EDIT: Or lots and lots of ducktape...
EDIT^2: Or a thin blanket... |

Hey; I'm new to the forums and this is my first post >.< first off; I just got my 2 RO ignitions yesterday from ebay {yeah I know.. that would mean they'd probably be used and suck eh? :S}. They don't work perfectly but they're responsive, don't ghost and don't stick etc. The problem is, when the right arrow is held down, the left arrow will not register and vice versa; this makes freeze steps and stuff absolutely impossible to get right.
Are there any mods or anything to fix this? It only happens with the right and left arrow together, not with any other combination. It occurs on both pads. I play on Stepmania and I've tested the pad with USB and PS2>USB adapters; same problems. :S
Thanks T.T
EDiT // Ermsh; they look very new, however in one of the pads I've noticed that the upper foam {whatever you call it.. ;_;} looks to be worn out but I can't get to it because that would mean I'd have to cut it up. Is it a good idea to cut it up and replace it?
EDiT // infact; also like the right and left arrow combination missing, when the up arrow is down, the botto marrow does not register and vice versa. It also seems like when I try to press two arrows at the same time, one will register a split second after the first :/
I was always told to never put my feet in the center of the pad after stepping on arrows, however it seems that I must to play on my ignitions and not get Es =.="
I only just started DDRing recently... and I'm approaching standard from playing on my imitation-konami mat which I decided to get an upgrade from. |

Are you sure you got RO Ignitions? Ebay has a lot of generic clones. _________________

I'm pretty sure. They both came in the box with those shiny stickers and have redoctane on the center panel.. its all as described {from what I've read here} the zipper isn't tight around the foam and etc. I'm pretty sure it's a red octane. Came in a red-box packaging.
EDiT // one of my ignitions officially cannot press two steps at a time and doing so registers a miss. The foam inserts have not come apart. I believe this mat is the one with a grid insert at the top. Left arrow freeze steps do not work seperately either. |

Oh, no no, this is no good. My 2-3-year-old Ignition 2.0 has the wire that connects the pad and the PS2 frayed to the point of seeing the bronze and silver underneath, the up arrow sticks frequently, and there's a panel-size tear on the inside of the pad itself, between the foam (which is undamaged) and the inside wiring of the up arrow (go figure).
Basically, if the Ignition 3.0 sucks, what am I supposed to replace Ol' Faithful here with? _________________

My ignition is dying. I got it last year in July. I didn't play much over the winter period, so it dosn't have many hours of usage. I'd say maybe only about less than 10 hours maybe. I believe I'm either going to get a metal pad, or BNS DX Xtreme Fusion. My ignition has a big rip in it. _________________

If you mean this, then go for it. Stick your Ignition foam in it. the only problem I had with that one is that the arrows aren't raised, so it's harder to know where you are on the pad. _________________

psisar wrote: | I don't know if anyone is interested, but when I got my Ignition I was told that it wasn't compatible with an OS other than XP (I run Win2k). So, I couldn't use my pad with Stepmania, which was the whole point of me buying an Ignition in the first place. Since I used the PCB from my Ignition to build my metal pad, I still had the same problem and wanted to fix it. Anyway, I developed my own driver by manipulating some of the code from the XBCD dance pad driver, and my pad works perfectly with SM now running on Win2k. If anyone has the same problem let me know and I'll upload the driver. |
I have win2k and I've been looking for a driver for it for a few days. It'd be much appreciated if you could post it, and thanks in advance! |

^cool stuff, but the corner foam isn't going to last long either. eventually you might have to cut holes in new foam and stick them in, or just buy a new pad altogether. |

Yes, but not as raised as the RO pads. _________________

I advise anyone not to buy that pad. Ours broke in a weak of playing on it. A few weeks ago I got a metal one. Don't waste hundreds of dollers on pads that say they are durable. It is not true.
Here is my broken RedOctane.
The triangle doesn't work, and the arrows press themselves down so you miss. And look how wrinkled it got!
Sorry the image is big, I should've resized it. |

Oh yea. Use a knife and cut the threads on the outside under the black thingy that keeps it together. Of course you won't be able to put it back on but that's why god invented duct-tape. |
