Yeah, that's annoying. I do that sometimes. But only when I'm next on the coin line and someone else decides that they're just gonna go, weather it's my turn or not. |

one of the most annoying things when i DDR is when people whistle a tune.it throws me off a bit.
the other is when a few people in behind me having ice wars.they would throw ice at each other from their cup of sodas and an ice cube lands in one of the arrows and i almost slip from it.because it makes the pads so slippery and wet.
when people try to tell me what i am suppose to do in the middle of the game.i rather these people suggest me what to do at the end of the game.
that way at gameplay i do not lose concentration.

I don't have very many angering experiences, but I gewt a lot of these 'WTF are you thinking?!' moments.
--The most frequent is usually a kid that thinks it's cool to jump along on the pad while I'm playing doubles (I play heavy, so you can imagine, I'm rushing between both pads fast). I'll warn them once, and then after that, it's fame on.
One of these kids thought it'd be cool to hit the arrow to mess me up during A Oni. I gave him the usual 'you will get hurt'. He didn't listen, In his attempt, I am on Player side 2, he is playing Johnyy Dick-dick on side 1. I start rushing to side 1 due to a crossover and he hits the down arrow too quick and I completely mash his foot. He didn't enjoy that too much.
The next week. Another one of these idiots tries JUMPING ON THE PAD while I'm doing doubles. I'm playing Paranoia Survivor Heavy. At this point, I'm not going to give a warning, I'm moving quick, common sense dictates don't get in my way.
She was messing with me a bit while I was playing before, so it's game on. She decided to jump on player side 1 (the idiots love that side, I guess), I see her out of the corner of my eye, and in flow of the crossover, I wanted to shove her away, but that didn't translate from brain-to-body quick enough. And it turned into basically a shoulder charge. Ended up knocking her completely off the machine on her back. She had no idea what hit her.
Other than that, I like to mess around when I play. I'll double step an entire song like Exotic Ethnic, or I'll play an entire song with one foot (not a beginner song, but like Heavy Janejana using only 1 foot, bar jumps). And it gets a good reaction.
But some people who are way too much into Perfect attacking tell me not to double step; drains your stamina, not good scores, etc.
I do it because it helps out in stamina
So I go 's'okay, I don't PA. I know what I'm doing.'
One kid decides it would be funny to talk big. Saying how he's better, I'm some sort of newbie.
I don't even play competitively.
Ok, whatever. You can do good, jump up.
I'll say this right now. A lot of the asian kids in Vegas whore out songs. And I have this personal, implied rule in arcades: If they play: A, Love Shine, Irresistablement, Sexy Planet Oni, or Rhythm And Police. If they pick any of those 5 songs. I will ensure that the next song kills you, and I'll pick it quickly with little/no break in between, so you can't adjust any modifiers to it.
Reason being: If you're so good at PA, these little 'stepping stones to Perfect Attacking' shouldn't be played by the 'pros'.
He allows me to pick first: Legend Of Max heavy. He's a bit in shock, typical. I don't know many people that pick it first.
He holds onto the bar for dear life and I'm just running in my little square with no bar. We both end up getting C's and he's already tired.
He picks next. He wants something easy to do: Love Shine. Big mistake. I was going to let him off easy with Bag, but sounds like Max 300 next round.
I do the song with just my right leg and he's holding on the bar for dear life. He barely get's an A, I get a B.
My turn. You're dead. Max300. I hit the button and step back. He frantically rushes to adjust his modifiers (Max300 on 3 X. You silly goose)
Long story short, he ends up tuckering out 1/4 through the song, holding on the bar. I end up getting a C on it running in the little square again, flairing with no bar.
That was the first time I end up beating somebody in points. He was pretty pissed that he lost to a 'newbie'. I've been playing for 4 years, c'mon!
It's also kinda why I play doubles, that way, I don't have to deal with crap-talking asians, I just have to deal with the ones that are dumb enough to jump on the pads.
I'm not violent, just an enforcer of common sense. I don't enjoy taking time out of my day to push tennagers around. I take time out of my day punishing the stupid ones. _________________

im an asian and i do rhythm and police and love shine and A...:'( im not heart-ed
but i hear ya, i hate people who run up on the pad or talk poopy and cant back it up properly
meh but if i want to rest, ill say so and pick an easy song...even if it is one that is whored out a lot
emos whore out songs to no end...to the point where i can almost predict their entire set
i like taking down arrogant twits...they annoy me to no end
ill just show them up in front of their girls, its amusing when that happens _________________

Things that piss me off?
Mainly ignorance. Ignorance of token lines, ignorance of song selection, ignorance of others, ignorance of respect. You know, just ignorance.
I don't have too many emo kids at my arcade, but the ones that I know at least PLAY DDR whore out songs, to the point that azninsect described. It's impossible for me to go play DDR and not have a child about 5 years old want to play Speed Over Beethoven or We Will Rock You. If they're feeling daring, maybe even La Copa De La Vida. Get the point? At my arcade, there seems as though it's cool to try and get Butterfly replaced with Captain Jack for the Top Played. Song whoring makes me mad.
Finally, cocky little dicks who play because they think they're the best. I'm no where NEAR being almighty good. However, some kids who are new to Heavy think they own the machine, can bypass any "token line", and have an attitude about it (hee hee IIDX-pun).
Story Time: This all happened in the SAME day of DDR playage (needless to say, it was the best day ever).
1) I was having fun playing stuff like Jet World and JaneJana when this kid who must've been 2 years younger than me shows up on the pad next to me and starts shadowing. He stops halfway when I'm done with my next song and was all, "Get off, it's my turn." Surprised, I turn to him. "Hey man, there's a token line you gotta wait for." Him: "Screw that, I wanna play." So I turn to whoever was next and asked if I could take their place so I could kick this kid's buttocks. They were enjoying it and said sure. So I played this kid, who picked Standard. Just to humor him, I picked Standard too and let him know that he could pick all the songs, because he IS the best, afterall. A few rounds later, we both go to Heavy and play some easy song, and I got the Extra Stage. Kid looked like he crapped himself when I picked Max300 and said, "Let's just do it for fun." I didn't have any attitude problems from him the rest of the night.
2) Stereotypical jocks standing to my left (I was on 1P) and making gay jokes. I'm not gay, but I still find them really offensive. I told them, "Hey guys, stop. I'm trying to play." They do their "HAHAH OMG WHAT A LOSER." So I pick HVAM next. Needless to say, they kept making fun of me. During the little freeze before the final run at the end, I sidekicked him. Over the bench which was so PERFECTLY placed behind him (Thanks for that, Mark). He did a big ol' "WHAT THE F$#@!?" And left in bad spirits. However, I did get a talking to by one of the employees who worked there. Even though I told him what happened, he still said if I caused anymore trouble, I'd be out of there. _________________

I hate these people who think you're playing versus mode and that your partner is gone while you are playing Double. Wasted me 2$ when this fat 12
years old jumped on the arcade to "help" me. _________________

If someone did that to me I'd say to get off. If he didn't do it, I'd go about playing double as if he weren't there. |

really really sweaty kids.
no joke, the kid left his sweat all over the screen and pad. i almost slipped.
other then that, its kind of annoying when people walk right on the machine after you've coined up in line for almost half an hour. yes, you try being around a SuperNOVA machine with 5324653256456 people wanting to play. _________________

Damn, that's sweaty. The only way one could get sweat on the screen would be for them to wipe their arms on it. I hate it when people do that. I mean, I'll lean against it after doing something tiring, but I won't have sex with it. |

OMG U R NUB (but I'm just kidding)
I don't care much about grades. I'm lucky to get an A in the arcade. While AAA's are cool, you don't HAVE to get them.
As for the thing about bars, I know a guy that thinks that. I don't see anything wrong with it, as long as people don't RAPE it. I mean, it's common to see people grab it for a few seconds to keep balance. But when you see people do MAX 300 and put ALL their weight on the bar throughout the whole song, that's when they're RAPING the bar. |

Today I saw this dude I've never seen before.
He was a really buff guy.
Well, I play ITG so keep that in mind. =P
He played BUMBLE BEE on hard for all three songs.
I don't think he ever broke 90%.
It's annoying when people play the same song, but seeing him play it was just silly.
And he was singing/dancing to it too.
Oh, and he would shadow people all the time.
Which makes it even worse was the people were doing songs with hands, and he would even shadow the hands.
Imagine how stupid that looks, just reaching down and touching the ground.
Oh, and he was wearing khaki pants and they were completely soaked in sweat down to his knees.

Eeeewwwww.
But don't critisize him for getting less then 90%. I've never broke 90% ever. That's why I've never completed a song with a letter grade of less then a B. |

Uh, using the bar isn't cheating.
Why the crap do you think they're there?
Decoration?
I'm sure you're a strict DDR player.
Try playing a 13 footer on ITG without the bar.
I used to be the same way buddy.
I thought the bar was for idiots, then I started to play ITG.
It helps your balance, and definitly improves your accuracy. |

I see it as a way of seperating those who are playing from those waiting.
Ergo; decoration.

I have, it's fun. Can't pass now; Pretty hard, but doable. Trying to get my stamina up just to show up the naysayers.

IMO, the bar acts as a crutch for the unstable and/or lazy. People indeed get good scores without a bar, so it isn't impossible. _________________
