Okay, since everyone else is posting, I might as well speak of my new accomplishments.
Prior to playing ITG, I could only pass LoM with C's and an occasional B. The whole problem was the stamina issue. Usually around the 50th measure, my legs would start dying on me (note that I save the raping for my fiance) and by the last run, I'd be out of it.
Now, I land solid A's (almost an AA!) on LoM . Without a doubt, the two minute songs in ITG have increased my stamina greatly. _________________

Before I played ITG, I could pass PARANOiA Survivor and I could barely pass MAX 300.
Now, I passed MAX 300, MaxX Unlimited, and PSMO...
...back to back...
...on double.
ITG helps with the stamina just a bit, I'd reckon. _________________

You don't need 20+ people to answer a specific question.
"Will ITG make you better at DDR?"
Yes. |

Uh, no. It's different for everyone. I know of at least two people that have SUCKED at DDR because of ITG/ITG2.
Like one of our members on the team used to SDG everything and because of ITG/ITG2, he gets like 30s and on the offbeat songs he gets 100+. _________________

before i played ITG, i played DDR 1x no bar. once i started playing ITG, i played 3x for everything up to 150 BPM, and used the bar for everything. when i played DDR after playing ITG for 2 months, i did the same; used speed mods to make the scroll rate around 450 BPM. but on DDR that seemed really fast, and hard to read. is it just me, or is the scroll rate on DDR much faster than ITG? _________________

DDR's speed is infact faster than what it should be with speed mods. I am pretty sure if it states its on 2x it will actually speed the rate up by two times, making it a double speed. On ITG, since it is Stepmania and that the screen is also I think a bit larger, it scrolls at a different rate up yet at the same time doubles what it should be.
I don't know.
Why am I even posting here.
Damn you CStar :< |

I think it's the different frame rates that they scroll at. Speed mods are speed mods. They multiply based on the rate you set it to to do so. Math is math, it's calculated correctly.
I think it's cause DDR's frame rate runs more smoothly. _________________

how's that? it has fewer frames per second I believe, so wouldn't that make ITG's frame rate smoother? that would also help explain why reading high speed mods on ITG are easier to read than high speed mods on DDR. |

OMFG - THAT'S WHAT A FORUM IS FOR!
Certain people have better PA after playing ITG. Certain people start getting worse at DDR after ITG.
The games have completely different timing windows. ITG will definitely help your stamina in playing DDR, but it might not help your PA. _________________

I stand corrected then. _________________

Uh i think it really helps, i am fat and ITG is a good way to build stamina since the songs are longer and harder, i play heavy and uh It does help, i think that you are over confident that you can beat anything so probably thats why you got an A or maybe you are too used to ITG now, oh yeah and i beat Trip Machine Climax, a song i couldnt beat but it was on 4th mix : )

ITG and DDR both run at ~60 fps, but ITG looks much smoother for whatever reason. |

The ITG screen is WAY larger on a dedicated cabinet. That could be the reason. Also, ITG increased my stamina TONS. Before, I could barely past Max300: sometimes C, mostly fail. Today I played it 3rd song, A'd it, wasn't even tired.
Also I played a nonstop that was this:
1. Rhythm and Police (H)
2. Cartoon Heroes (H)
3. Little B!tch (H)
4. Max300 (H)
and beat it easily. |

ITG2 runs smoother than both IMO. _________________

From what I hear, on dedicated cabinets it runs at 75 frames per second. Makes quite a difference. |

Of course it helps your DDR, they are transient skills. _________________
