For reading long streams of 16ths, make sure you're playing on at least 2x. If there's a particularly long and complicated stream in a song (Mythology, The Beginning, Delirium), I'll sometimes go to 2.5x or 3x. There isn't much more you can do other than practice - play songs like On A Day Like Today and My Favorite Game a lot so that you can get used to seeing the patterns. After a while, you'll be able to read a whole cluster of notes at a glance and execute them without thinking about it. If you're playing 11s, you're probably already pretty good at this; what needs to happen is for this skill to fit into nonstop streams. That mostly just takes practice.
Just recently, though, I've found I can do better if I think about reading each arrow individually - that's not actually what I'm doing, but it's what I'm keeping in my mind, if that makes any sense. Don't know if it would help you at this point or not; I suspect it would be better to focus on recognizing whole patterns for now.
Another technique that might come in handy is, early on in the stream, mentally note which foot is being used for green arrows, and which is being used for red and blue arrows. I'll try to mainly focus on one side of the arrows or the other (usually the reds and blues) - if I concentrate on hitting all of those, my other leg almost seems to keep up on its own. The streams in Utopia and Xuxa are particularly good for this, as they involve a lot of hitting the same arrow with one foot while the other foot goes all over the pad.
Play flat-footed and make sure your feet are as close to the center panel as they can comfortably be. Try to remain aware of which way you need to face during each part of the stream, and try to anticipate places where you need to change the way you're facing. This is crucial. You will never be forced to double-step in a nonstop 16th stream (that I've seen, anyway), so make sure to ALWAYS alternate your feet, even if it means your left foot is on the right arrow and your right foot is on the left arrow, or vice versa (Mythology does this at least once). Trust that the stream will eventually resolve itself and you'll be back facing the screen.
Whenever you can, try to completely ignore the mines. In a typical song that has a lot of mines, very few of them require any extra effort to avoid. At least half of them are either ornamental, or just there to make the arrows harder to read. After a bit, you should be able to get a feel for which mines you need to actively avoid and which you can ignore, and you'll be able to do songs like Infection and VerTex hardly hitting any mines at all.
Whew... That was a long post. Writing all that out was actually pretty interesting, because I do most of this subconsciously, and had to really think to bring the techniques to the surface. I hope this helps you, and thanks for teaching me more about how I play! |

My technique for passing most 11-footers is to use a combination of the Mini, Flat, and 4x mods, then grab that bar for dear life! |

I dont even think I can do that...
Either way for 11's I guess its either.... ::aheem::

-pratice it like hell...
-Keep learning the steps...
-Keep Practicing!...
-and so on and so on...
I highly doubt that actually helped... |

I just rape the bar and play it over and over again until I get it down. _________________
