yeah i know this idea seems crazy but wouldnt it be cool to turn on the t.v. and see ppl freestyling to captain jack.. seeing torny's and such having a ddr profile that was about you on tv. yeah it would be like [insert your name here] and it would say age, how long you've been playing ddr how many AAA's you have. The possiblities are limitless... but yes i know this is just a fantasy that will never come true, this may not sound appealing to those of you who dont like watching others play but oh well

I have a better idea... how about a DDR hidden camera show, so you can catch people doing stuff like stealing stuff off the machine when they think no one's looking...

That may be impossible, but showing DDR tournarments on sports channels is something I expect within the next decade. DDR is essentially more a sport than it is a game--you can never "beat" it, the aim is to make yourself better and get better at it. And it's really fun to watch people who're good at it play it--much more so than football or baseball, in my opinion.

Oh, you can beat it easily--earn a AAA on every song. Note that the methodology is easy, not the task itself. Such an idea is only going to come to fruition if DDR continues its popularity increase over the next few years (in other words, very unlikely). Plus, if it were ever showcased on TV like that, we'd have all kinds of whining on the boards about how DDR's "too mainstream/conformist/whatever."

Not really. So you've done that. Now you have the mods to think about. What about shuffle? Stealth? Boost? If you've AAA'd everything with those on, how about with the volume off? Or the picture? Or both? There's always a way to make it harder.

That wasn't exactly the nices thing to say. I'm sure that everybody here has at least once imaged a similar fantasy. It would be very interesting and entertaining to see DDR on TV, as long as it isn't on like every day.

There's a difference between saying, "Oh, cool, DDR on TV" and "ZOMG ZOMGZ BEMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANI 247 247 247" like the people in this topic are.

The point is, there isn't an infinite number of iterations which could be met to "beat" the game. Besides, you can make up random stuff to add in to the challenge for any game,** so by your logic, any game is "unbeatable."

**I could make a challenge to myself where I try to speed clear Metroid Prime 2 in <90 minutes while drinking my way out of a tub full of chipotle sauce, but most would agree that 100%-ing the game on Hard Mode is sufficient for beating the game completely. Besides, last I checked, there weren't that many people who have AAA'd the entire game (relative to total number of players).

The funny thing is, nobody has really AAA'ed the game because, shockingly, Extreme isn't the only DDR version left... disturb.gif

you would run out of programming so fast. atleast, interesting programming. what youre discribing seems like mtv at its inception, and they had to add all of the garbage thats on there now to keep the station afloat. it wouldnt work.

people dont tune in to watch commercials, people will watch the commercials because theyre already on that channel, presumably watching something they want to watch. mtv didnt keep the station afloat by adding commercials, they added programming people wanted to watch, so they would be there to watch the commercials, thereby generating revenue.

ESPN has magic the gathering now? I wouldn' be surprised, because yesterday I turned on the channel and saw blind kickball. That isn't even a joke. They also have dogeball on different channels, and I only started to notice that after the movie "Dodgeball" made so much money. So I think it's obvious that there should be a movie that has alot of DDR in it, and then maybe it will get popular. Just show alot of boobs in it and people will think "hey...DDR... = boobs" and there ya go, new generation of perverted players = ESPN DDR. minus the boobs..

Well, I imagine that each version is a separate game. If I 100%'d Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, but didn't 100% Majora's Mask, would you say I didn't beat the game fully? You'd probably say I beat OoT and not MM. I may not have 100%'d the franchise of all Zelda games, but I might have 100%'d individual games. So, in my opinion, if you can AAA every song on, say, 1st mix, then you AAA'd the game, "the game" being 1st mix, and not the entire canon of DDR games.

That's very reasonable, but what if some freak AAA's the first mix then shoves it in your face that he has "AAAed the game DDR"? Wouldn't that push your buttons? blink.gif

Feh, not especially, because I'd ask him which mix he was talking about (since no one, to the best of my knowledge has AAA'd every mix out there). Anyway, if they could even earn one Maniac AAA, they're probably better than me by far. disgust.gif riiight.gif
