A couple days ago, I was half through Paranoia Rebirth on Heavy and my legs just stop moving. I had been playing for about 6 hours straight with 40 hours of no sleep, a 7 mile run for cross-country practice, and mostly 7-9 footers with a few 6's to take a downtime for songs. I didn't know what was coming

No offense, but you didn't know that you were going to essentially collapse because you'd been playing 6 hours of consecutive DDR with 40 hours of not sleeping? Hello - listen to what you just said.

It's pretty much a self-fulfilling prophecy that you're going to collapse if your body is running on no sleep and you're participating in strenuous activity.

I had been playing for about 6 hours straight with 40 hours of no sleep, a 7 mile run for cross-country practice, and mostly 7-9 footers with a few 6's to take a downtime for songs.

...

I think its pretty obvious what the problem is there :/ 40 hours of no sleep and then you decide to punish your body even more with 6 hours of DDR straight.. ON TOP OF A 7 mile RUN!?! Yea well I dont really understand how you cannot come to the conclusion that a leg lock is no going to come. Thats really... common sense... seriously...

Meh...

I've been through worse.

And the 7 miles was much earlier. I didn't just whip off my running shoes and play. I watched some TV and had some milk.

It really wasn't all that bad actually. I left out some details. The way you read it, yeah. That sounds impossible actually.

I spent most of the 40 hours watching TV and just relaxing. Pseudo-sleep.

No, I was so tired once that my legs locked up in public and I couldn't muster up the strength to get off of the machine. E2.gif

I think we've all had that happen to us DDR players at one time or another.

Yay for track! I run under the intense sun everyday so I'm use to being sweaty and hot and gross but still having to run as fast as I can.... which sucks E2.gif So anyway the most I've played for is like four or five hours but I was O.K. (because of my intense training laugh.gif )

When I was in 'peak' DDR playing condition, I once played with my friends for a good 8 straight hours.

Towards the end, I decided to get too big for my britches and do Rhythm and Police, followed by MaxX Unlimited, with PSM after that, all on Heavy.

Midway through PSM, my right leg just stops moving, cramps, and my knee bends half way up. It wouldn't straighten for ten minutes. AKA, my legs looked like this: 4...So I'm trying to play PSM with one foot, a little...to which I subsequently fall, don't get hurt because of sweat which causes me to slide across the floor...and I'm lying there for ten minutes since my leg won't move.

Day after, I couldn't walk, and my right leg would occasionally twitch.

What a day that was.

i did all of the ten footers in a row (heavy) in order from easiest to hardest... and i passed out in the middle of PSMO and hit my head on the counter next to me. i woke up the next day and did PSMO again E1.gif

the longest ive evr played was 36 hours on endless mode with two 5 minute food breaks. (water between every song)

Last night I crashed at 11 after coming home from the arcade after 36 and a half hours of being awake. At hour 34, I passed LoM for the first time (third try ever), with 21 Misses. Methinks that next time I play I won't be so careless. E10.gif
