Hope everything goes well with your leg problem.. |
Thanks... the frustrating thing is that it doesn't really bother me much while I'm playing, so if he tells me to stop for a while, it's going to be a little too tempting to ignore the advice.

Im thinking of going to arcade this weekend. Not sure if I get enough courage to go there though.. But I want to try out the arcade DDR

We stopped into a new arcade during a road trip today... it was great at first... I felt like a pretty good player compared to the other folks who were there. But then later on this guy came in and started AAing Maxes, which put me in my place in a hurry
Let us know how you make out! |

I went to arcade!!!! Spent about 60min. I think I played about 20-24 songs. I only have been there once about 16 months ago I was really bad. But this time, I was able to play pretty much any Standard (familiar songs). I only got kicked out twice:) Once because I wasnt stepping on the arrow
. With shoes on, I cant feel where the arrows are. Then last song I picked was Drop the Bomb in heavy. Got kicked out
But I was able to clear Love (heart) Shine in heavy!!! Yay!!! With 1.5x speed though. Got C
.
Arcade I went to is a Roller skate link too and has kids birthday party often there. So there were many little kids
Some of the mothers were watching me play though, which made me little nervous but then I got into playing. I think I did pretty well been new to Arcade DDR.

So, you can play DDR again in best condition |

That's awesome! I'd be nothing but a pool of sweat after half that many songs.
BTW, I was playing some Ultramix2 songs today... let me just say that "Toe Jam" is EVIL! EVIL!!
Actually, there are a bunch of songs that have passages that I can't read at all. The footwork just seems too weird and chaotic. I see a screen full of purple and blue arrows flying at me (I play on Solo) and I've got no clue what the rhythm or the footwork is supposed to be.
Maybe if I'm forced into temporary idleness, I can play Stepmania and see if my arrow-reading ability improves at all. |

Actually, I was playing them on Stepmania... I've given up playing on consoles because I wanted to try to improve my horrendous timing. How horrendous is it? Well on Toe Jam, I was consistently getting 200+ Greats.. not only that, I was also getting an amazing amount of Goods. In one try, I had as many as 54. Ridiculous! But with this song, it's not a "timing" thing, it's a "retarded footwork" and "BPM changes" thing... but since my kid got a high A on his first try, it's obviously just me
I'll see if I can find the answer as to how you unlock Toe Jam, so you can see for yourself.
Edit: To unlock it, pass Baile Le Samba, La Cucaracha, and Monkey Punk on Heavy |

Thanks!! I need to try that tonight
Edit: OK, Got the Toe Jam. I got D in first try on heavy. Then tried it again with 1.5x speed and got C
I didnt record my C but with D (1st try), I got 212 perfect and 105 great
. Along with 64 Good, 28 almost and 17 boo
It is little weird though. My husband look in the room and said, What is this country song??? lol
I do feel UM2 is a lot more difficult then Extreme

demoncherry, I'm so sorry. Sounds like you and Slowpoke might be off for a little while. Well, at least being older we can put it in perspective. Things do happen to us that don't happen to the other players on these forums and we have to deal with them. Thankfully we're more mature (only a little more in my case perhaps). I know my bursitis feels a lot better when I don't play as much. But you know, I'd rather have a sore hip than be dragging with no energy and getting depressed. And having my butt sag.
But I hope you all can recover quickly. Remember you have support from us even if it's kind of weird to have support from people you've never met who share your fanaticism of a perhaps somewhat obscure game. _________________

Isn't amazing how this song makes you rack up the Goods??

I think that's part of what makes it so evil... it makes me think of "Deliverance"
Well, I got good news and bad news from the doctor today. The good news is that there's no structural damage that would require me to curtail my physical activities... the bad news is that I've got a neuroma which would have to be surgically removed if the cortisone shot he gave me doesn't help. Thanks to the shot, I'll be off the pad for the rest of the week... I guess I'll wait and see what happens. |

No, I disagree. I think most EVIL song in UM2 is the route 80s I hate that song!! Speed change is totally unreasonable. I cant even get AA in light
and its only 4 feet

Do we need to send the watchdogs to make sure you follow doctor's order? May be you should report to us everyday... Just kidding.. Hope everything works out |

I agree... but you know, it's SO unreasonable, I don't even count it... I've chosen to ignore it. On the other hand (foot?), Toe Jam had me playing it compulsively, trying to get some kind of reasonable score, which I couldn't... |

I used to play at RTA back in high school. I also used to frequent these boards. Probably none of you know or remember me except for those who know me personally. _________________

I did Extreme on PS2 today. Love Maximizer Got A in heavy (with 1.5x) and got no boo!!! Yay I wish I could dance like this at arcade. I guess I just need to keep going so I get more comfortable with metal pad. I just need to learn how to stay on the arrows

I used to feel that way too, but I discovered that if you play them on Stepmania and slow them down a bit, they're actually pretty cool. For example... I still hate Max 300, but I really really like "Max 240" |
