I got the game recently and loved it. I have no complaints about the songlist, though its very small. Taiko March and Carmen Prelude are among my favorites for the game as well (Katamari On the rocks is great too). I also like beating the crap out of my drum, It relives stress well, But It reminds me of a Practice pad for Band class. _________________

Only oni left now...
one complaint: on the large notes you don't have to hit both sides
and for those that are having trouble with a section or need to see/hear how its done using auto mode helps (select button before starting song)
...I'm going to try using both drums now killer queen down 30 left to go.... |

Man, this game is really cool. The sing list is short but it's ok because my hands hurt after playing a few songs. It's best enjoyed playing with some friends and taking turns (which is what I did). It's funny to say "pass me the dildos" when it's your turn to play. The covers are pretty decent. The "video", or whatever you call the stuff going on on the bottom half of the screen, for "Toxic" is funny. Ridge Racer is damn hard but I'm sure I can get it down with a little more playing. ROCK THE DRAGON is AWESOME. _________________

I saw this a week ago and just got paid today, so I thought "Hey, why not go buy Taiko?" and so I did . It was worth every penny. I @&#%ing LOVE it! The songlist is great although a bit too small.
As you get better and play harder levels, the game gets more and more fun, so I'm totally addicted. Me and my friend have been playing it all night and I'm kinda sad I didn't buy another Taiko Drum while I was at the mall. Oh well, somthing for me to do next time I go.

just got taiko, its tons of fun, but the drum is really loud. can you do anything about that?
and the songlist is a little weak, but there will be more mixes. _________________

I played this game with a dualshock, my friend brought it over. Using the circle and L1 button (L2 and left for the ones where you're supposed to hit two at once) I tried passing songs by just jackhammering (hitting two notes with the same finger) and I passed that one rock song on oni that's rated the highest of all of them within my first twenty minutes of play

How can you say jackhammering it is easy compared to a bigger spread out drum, because if anything that would be easier
whatever, next game they need to have like, reality or something on there. |

It's much, much easier on a Dual Shock. With the drum, you have to use some actual alternating arm technique, because it's quite a bit more tiring to jackhammer with one hand. |

uh huh
that doesn't make any sense
I'm not going to spend money on a taiko drum to buy this game when the game doesn't even offer much in terms of difficulty. Maybe in a newer version they have a bunch of harder songs but right now it's just too easy for me to see myself replaying |

some of the classical songs are fun to replay.
and songs will get progressively harder with new versions of taiko, like in ddr. _________________

Not that I'm trying to sell the game or anything, but...have you tried it with the drum? Aside from being really fun (its main selling point), the harder songs are quite difficult with the drum. My friend and I still haven't passed a couple of 'em...and we aren't exactly slouches.
But like I said before, the game's main selling point is how much fun it is. Lady Marmalade, Toxic, Slide, all of those are really fun, even if they are kinda easy. Heck, the game's almost worth it just for the Katamari Damacy song. _________________

Anyone who thinks the game is easy obviously hasn't tried the harder songs on Oni level with the actual drum. Heh.

Notice the title of the game is "taiko drum master" not dualshock rhythm maker.
This game is a lot harder using the drum, and playing the actual rhythms.
...25 seconds with the drum...
....7 (easy) songs beat using both drums.... _________________

I just bought TDM today, and I've been very pleased with it thus far. I can tell it'll bug my parents, and that's almost worth the price of admission. I was wondering, would it be bad to use normal (wooden) drumsticks with the drum (as in damage it)? The sticks that come with it are somewhat large, and I think I might be able to handle the longer streams with lighter/slimmer sticks. |
