Just wondering, what's the difference between Flat and non-flat sheetmetal??
The ones I see at home depot look like metal peices of paper, basically.. So, those are flat right?? _________________

Non-flat = in rolls. In which you would have to get the sheet flattened before you could attach it to the bottom of the panel.
Yes the homedepot ones are flat like paper. |

I have made my decision and now am ording the BNS pad to use with stepmania on my computer. I have a quick question, before I order the pad and adapter, the BNS site has an offical BNS ps to USB adapter and I was wondering if this adapter works period and how it's responsiveness. I am very reluctant to order an adapter without hearing from someone else if it works or not. Also, is there another adapter for the same price but better quality that I should order? I have Windows XP for the record. Thanks! |

Just to point out that's in the heating Duct work area of that site. Not the roofing if your looking in the store it's likely in the same area. |

Thats is wierd. the TX-1000 Metal pad weigh atleast 40lbs and cost atleast $99. So I'm not sure whats actually being sold for $39 at 4lbs. Screws maybe? or an ignition pad? I wouldn't buy that item with messed up description like that.
Hitokiri the sheet metal that came in 50' rolls, were they 30 gauge? Cause the sheet metal I got is kinda malleable but it would be hell trying to flatten it if it was in a roll. Take a look at the thickness and malleabilty of flat sheets vs. the ones in the rolls. I doubt think the rolls would work that well. |

thanks for the tip. if u want somethin off ebay boardpusher, get what i got, a judysdeals pad. it isn't top quality, but for 140 bucks (includes shipping) its pretty well done. plus u can mod it with the sheet metal mod and make it really durable. ppl say that sometimes they come DOA, but u can return it for a new one and they pay for shipping back and forth!! so nice........ |

i've had mine for about a month now. it hasn't broken on me yet but i'm gonna wait until after 2 months to be sure. if a metal pad still works after 2 months i'm pretty sure it'll last for a while. but u can never be too certain....clean the pad often if u want to be really careful |

Ok I now have two questions about my modded pads.
1 I modded my pad with the MYMYBOX mod. IS this for longevity or for response time or both.
2. I slip a lot on my pads (if I really push off I feel the traction of my sneakers slip seconds before I jump back.) Now I'm trying to get the feeling of the pad (I finally am able to do about same as I did with softs) But is there anything that will give me better preformance? a special type of shoe or something? |

the sheet metal is for longevity. i guess the sheet metal makes it a bit thicker......so it makes for quicker response but not a big enough difference to notice. if u really want to make ur response quicker ask ps2freak about his mod for arcade like response. if u check in the thread pages 50 and up u'll find it.
i'd suggest vans shoes. anythin with a flat sole. vans work best though |

*shrugs* I didn't need to ask this but why don't I? I noticed when a friend was trying out the pad, there's a slight bulge to the plastic now, I assume this is normal? I often here like a snap or such (I assume it's just the plastic settling I haven't heard it often) so I want to be sure. The bulge only appears in the middle of the side and the screws are all very tight, I just want to make sure this is all A-OK.
And thanks to everyone who has helped me so far, especially Zero2dash. These pads are SO much fun and more realistic. (In my extremely uninformed opinion) |

y don't u what? the bulge could be the plastic or the sheet metal. i don't think cracking sounds are a good sign but it might jus be the sheet metal. if it is then u'll hafta take ur pad apart again and flatten the sheet metal. if u got ur sheet metal in flat sheets instead of the rolls (which are bad to use in the mods) then it might be the arrows. MMB pads have polycarbonate arrows right? if not u'd better get some new arrows that are polycarbonate or else ur old ones'll crack pretty soon. hard acrylic sux so much...... |

Why don't I ask the question is what I was saying. They are poly carbonate. and the cracking I think is just when the arrows are too close together they overlap and one slaps the other one, I probably just have to reseat the entire board manually if it happens again today. That'll take some time. |

I would say its cuz its easy to keep ur balance in vans shoes. a lot of skateboard ppl use them so whatever reason they use em is good enough reason to use em in DDR. its either grip or balance and both are good for DDR so use em. they don't look so bad either |
