i have noticed in some other phpBB forums, you can use images from your computer for your avatar instead of a website. is their any way you can do that in this site? pretty please?

well, that would require an uploading system and plenty of web space for people uploading their crap... i don't know if ddrfreak has space to spare but if they do good luck

It used to work that way a long time ago, but people were hotlinking the avatars for use on other message boards and that didn't go over well.

Currently it wouldn't be worth the server space or bandwidth to put it back in.

What XhaD said. Bandwidth is an expensive and valuable resource, especially around these parts. We've had issues keeping our videos up because of a lack of cheap bandwidth that can meet our requirements.

Money's very tight around DDR Freak right now, so I highly doubt we would provide something like this again.

*groan* Don't remind me. I remember that whole rigamarole involving what I had to keep an eye on when I started being a mod. All about keeping the bandwidth down.

And I know about the money part. Looks like no perks for the mods this year. *grumble*
