I have a question regarding the Korean DDR machines. I've heard from some people that the Korean machines are bootleg. Is this true, or were they offically released by Konami? Also I've noticed that the DDR USA machines are actually Korean cabinets. Can anyone tell me more about this?

i'm pretty sure the korean machines are official, considering there's official songs and stepcharts for them. as for the cabinet issue, i have no idea.

Try the Arcade forums. The korean DDR is actual a flavor of 3rd mix.

Konami, just like any other company, branches out all across the world. The Bemani they have made for Korea and other parts of asia are a good example. Take 3rd Mix Korean V.2 for example. There were songs taken out from regular 3rd and 2nd Mix and replaced with songs exclusive to Korea. Seven of which actually made it to Japanese machines (3rd Mix Plus to 4th Mix Plus). Other games in the Bemani world have different names as well like Dance Maniax is actually Dance Freaks in Korea (which also has Korean exclusive songs) and Drum Mania is Percussion Freaks.

Seems he's made a thread there too. No need for this one.
