If you were me, be happy you aren't, what would you spend 235 dollars on? It has to be other than ddr and has to be bemani. Advice=teh win _________________

I'm assuming you have a PS2 because, come on, who doesn't?
-PS2 Flip-top cover/boot disc: ~$40
-Konami IIDX controller: ~$100
-Beatmania IIDX 6th Style: ~$80
Total: ~$220...leaves you with about $15 for shipping costs. _________________

Hmm...(PnM prices from play-asia.com)
Pop'n Music Controller - $70
Two Pop'n Music PS2 Games - $120
Fliptop or something - $40
You might need another $5-$10 for shipping though...
EDIT: Or if you'd rather go with IIDX, a controller would be $80 and you could get 6th and 7th (well..it's coming out in May) styles. That would be $240 without shipping though... _________________

Where and why would you pay 80 for it?!? That's OD! I'm already getting it for 35 (No not pirated and PM me if you want to know how, I doubt it would work for anyone else though) _________________

Well, since you only needed $235, I'll happily take the other $165.
....please?
Well, if you've got a JPS2 and can get 6th Style that cheap, I'd say you should also get 5th and preorder 7th. You might consider 3rd...good song selection, relatively easy overall. 4th is hard to find, expensive and the least forgiving for beginners, so I'd stay away from it unless you really have money to burn or until you're better at the game and/or want to complete your collection.
Or if you get another $60-70, you could just scrap the IIDX idea completely and go with Pop'n Music 8 and an arcade style controller.
Basically it's all but impossible to run out of good Bemani stuff to buy. _________________

And Pop'n 8 from play-asia or videogamedepot.
Great investment. Excellent investment. Of course, I'm a little biased, but I play the damn thing for three hours a day and I'm always entertained. _________________

I KNEW you would say that AR. And yes I agree. It's the best damn investment EVAR. I'll buy it when I get to 600. _________________

Ok, so you have $600. (or are about to have) In my opinion, you should get:
Konami Beatmania IIDX controller: Play-Asia just brought their price up to $80, but it's still the cheapest place I know of. Add about $35 shipping. Total is about $120 (rounding up). $480 left.
Beatmania IIDX 5th or 6th style: Once again, Play-Asia has 5th for $60 and 6th for $70. Decent shipping is about $10. Suppose you get 5th, that would be $80. $400 left.
AirRandom's Ransai controller: $250 plus... I don't know what the shipping is. Just say $70. $80 left.
Pop'n Music 7th, 8th, or Best Hits.

$50 plus $8 shipping is a good deal on Best Hits.
If you want 7 or 8, it's $60, plus probably $10 shipping. (doesn't ship for a week though)
Suppose you get either 7 or 8, you would have a small amount of money left, to buy some ice cream sandwiches or play DDR or something. _________________

Personally, I'd forget Bemani for a second and get an i-pod, but if so, I would definatly get Beatmania 6th and a good 100 dollar controller from Toysnjoys, assuming you have a modded/Japanese PS2 like me. _________________

My shipping is $25-30. And get 5th style. Especially if you're just learning. 6th style is brutal and... not very interesting. -_-; _________________

Yes, 3rd style is very good, and don't listen to anyone who would say otherwise. I mean, where else can you play Take On Me, or SOS, or Calcutta, or Reincarnation, on home styles? _________________

5th Style is by far the best for beginners...
You could always get a DVD Burner and a 50 pack of DVD-Rs and pay $0 for the games _________________

*raises hand* haaai I am!
Although I buy games that I love and play. So I have bought Pop'n 8, IIDX 5th style, and Keyboardmania II, and I'm preordering Pop'n 9 so I get the package.
Piracy for the sake of trial I view as A-OK. Support it if it's good, though. _________________
