I'd mix some fighting game, like street fighter, cause you could get like a helmet and a sword (wooden or something) and hit the other player and try to make them fail

Maybe you can combine DDR with a game. I forgot the one where you have to use drums in sync with the music only you would have to move your feet or play a piano or something like that. But it sounds kinda hard

I like the DDR RPG type idea. You can run around a map and when you go to a certain area, instead of fighting cratures you'll be playing songs, and you character will be one of the DDR Dancers.

ya know i have seen something like that. I think it was on a website. its like DDR and a fighting game. You have the arrows and then every time you get an arrow right a power bar goes up. You charge up an attack with the bar and then you can attack and how much damage you make depends on the bar lvl. I forgot the name of the website but if i remember then i'll post again.
