Well, not necessarily in Japan, but yes, the songs that have the little spinning label that says "Dancemania" and such are real songs. _________________

You need to give a better definition of "real song"... I mean all ddr music is really music, right?
Let me try to intrepret what you are asking... you mean things that aren't done in-house by Konami but licensed from the Toshiba/EMI Dancemania CD collections (which includes FantasiA, Happy Paradise, etc.) or another source.... yes you'd want to look for that spinning icon on the machine in the lower right of the song banner, it will tell you what CD it comes from unless it says "Konami Original". This icon doesn't exist in the US versions if I recall correctly. But the information mode can sometimes clue you into wether the song is licensed or not.
The Moonlight shadow version you found was probably the original Missing Heart version... which originally appeared on I think Dancemania 9? It re-appeared again on Dancemania X8 with a "New Vocal Version". So if the vocal inflections sound different to you... you're right, it's not just a clever remix title _________________

The full versions of Busy Child and all its remixes and Days go by are really good Max2US songs. _________________
