probably is cause' 5th mix is nothing compared to max300 on heavy, maxxunlimited on heavy, legend of max on heavy, paranoia survivor on heavy, survivor max on heavy or oni, and maybe even cartoon heroes. |
THAT's why 5th mix was fun! I don't care aboutr diffuclty! I want to have fun!!! If my idea of fun is playing LTBHE(R&B) i'll do it even if it is a 6-footer!!! There was none of this stupid 'I CAN BEAT A TEN FOOTER' poopy, that some idiots say now, then act better than anyone else. And Rythm And Police is awesome! DON'T DISS R&P!!! |
The difficulty, for me, is what makes it fun. If 5th mix was the last mix released, I doubt I'd still be playing. 3rd mix came along with the toughest songs anybody had seen at the time, then 4th and 5th sort of just plateaued that difficulty level, and didn't really contribute many tough songs at all. What the boring? I'd almost compare it to beating a game and playing it over and over and over. It's not even difficult anymore, so why bother?
That's from the challenge = fun perspective. Another reason why I totally hate that mix is the actual songs themselves. I said it before, that fisher price shit sounds about as good as fingernails on a chalkboard. There's no depth to the music, it's like listening to blink 182, only with cheap synthesisers instead of guitars, and prepubescent girls that really shouldn't be singing. And if it's not the girls, it's Bus Stop, which is even worse.
So basically, running in place to bad music isn't fun for me.

Nah, instead there was stupid "I CAN BEAT A CATASTROPHIC SONG!". People always have and always will get excited over an accomplishment, but I don't think very many act better than everyone else. There are tons of good players that have never even bragged about their accomplishments in Novice Intermediate.

I agree with your views on 5th mix, but come on. Now that was just straight pusstastic. If you're gonna run your mouth at least back it up.

Anyway, can we come to an agreement to disagree?
5th Mix - Characters, some older songs, long versions, rare.
DDR Extreme - FMVs, harder songs, nonstop and oni mode, a lot of good Bemani crossovers.
Which is better depends on what you're looking for. Eh? Now just stop with the "5th mix is sucky because the things you like are stupid!" crap.

I don't know about that. In Japan, Konami completely owns the arcades thanks to bemani and lots of advertising. Instead of catching a clue here and following in KOJ's footsteps, KOA goes the opposite direction. There's probably more details as to why that idea wouldn't work. On the other hand, they may have just figured bemani is "too off the wall" to take off in the US. If it's the latter, then yes, they're stupid. I think they did put lots of bad songs on that mix. I think they realized it, and that's why those songs never made an appearance again.
