| It is definetly your weatherstripping. The best idea would to get the thinner weatherstripping, but if you cannot do that, try to raise your bottom contact.

As for the backbar assembly. CF/CG pads you have to make your own. I recommend a flat sheet of plywood and screw the pad down. Then go to the metal shop or home depot and use some plumbing pipes ... |
